    Introducing ACSI

    The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is the world’s largest Protestant educational organization, dedicated to promoting excellence in Christian education since 1978.

    ACSI supports Christian schools by providing a wide range of services, including teacher and administrator certification, school accreditation, and publishing educational materials.

    With 28 offices worldwide, ACSI serves over 5.5 million students in nearly 25,000 member schools across 108 countries, making it a global leader in Christian education.

    세계 최대의 개신교 교육 기관인 ACSI(세계 기독교 학교 연맹)는 1978년부터 기독교 교육의 우수성을 증진하는 데 헌신해 왔습니다.

     

    ACSI는 교사 및 행정가 자격 인증, 학교 인증, 교육 자료 출판 등 다양한 서비스를 통해 기독교 학교들을 지원하고 있습니다.

     

    전 세계 28개 지부를 통해 ACSI는 108개국의 약 25,000개 회원 학교에서 550만 명 이상의 학생들을 교육하며, 기독교 교육 분야에서 국제적인 로 자리매김하고 있습니다.

    ACSI will become a leading international organization that promotes Christian education and provides training and resources to Christian schools and Christian educators, resulting in

    • schools that contribute to the public good through effective teaching and learning and that are biblically sound, academically rigorous, socially engaged, and culturally relevant; and
    • educators who embody a biblical worldview, engage in transformational teaching and discipling, and embrace personal and professional growth.

     

    ACSI의 비전은 기독교 교육을 촉진하고, 기독교 학교 및 교사들을 위해 훈련과 자원을 제공하는 선도적 국제 기관이 되는 것입니다.

    이를 통해 다음과 같은 목표를 가집니다.

    • 효과적인 가르침과 배움으로 공익에 기여할 뿐만 아니라, 성경적으로 온전하고 학문적으로 탁월하며 사회에 참여하고 문화적으로 건전한 학교를 세웁니다.
    • 성경적 세계관을 구현하며 삶의 변화를 일으킬 수 있는 가르침과 제자화를 실천하고 자신의 성장과 전문성의 함양을 추구하는 교육자를 양성합니다.

    ACSI exists to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators worldwide as they prepare students academically and inspire them to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

    사명선언문 및 역사

    The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) was founded in 1978 when several regional U.S. school associations joined, becoming a united voice to advance excellence in Christian education. The leaders’ vision was to inspire, challenge, and resource educators and schools. First headquartered in La Habra, California, ACSI moved to an expanded facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1994. Today, ACSI serves nearly 26,000 schools in more than 108 countries.

     

    국제 기독교학교연맹 (ACSI)는 1978년 미국의 몇몇 연맹이 하나가 되어 기독교 교육을 위해 한 뜻을 모아 설립되었습니다. 리더의 비전은 영감, 도전, 학교와 교사에 교육에 관련된 모든것을 공급해 주는 것입니다. 본사 건물은 LA의 Habra, California에서 시작하였으며, 시설 확장을 위해 1994년 Colorado Springs로 이전하였습니다. 현재 ACSI는 108개국 이상의 국가에 약 26,000개의 학교를 섬기고 있습니다.

    Immerse ourselves in the Holy Scriptures and prayer, both individually and corporately; consistently measure all association actions, programs, and resources against the teachings of the Word of God; and recognize our total dependence on Him.
    개인 뿐만 아니라 회사 전체가 프로그램, 기독교 교육 프로그램 구성 등 연맹으로서의 결정을 할 때에 성경에 근거한 삶과 기도로 하나님께 의지한다.

    Serve schools and educators that represent a range of evangelical, Protestant backgrounds; all our schools and educators will hold to the ACSI Statement of Faith.
    복음 전파를 목적으로 학교와 교육자들을 ACSI의 사명 선언문을 기반하여 기독교인의 정신으로 섬긴다.

    Establish personnel resource and organizational policies and practices that encourage equitable and competitive wages, support for continuing professional growth, and commitment to collaborative goal setting, accountability, and consistent implementation of evaluation systems.

    Act with faithfulness and integrity and exercise diligence in program administration, with thoroughness and research-based expertise in the production of resources, and with fiscal accountability, realizing that ACSI ultimately belongs to God and we ultimately answer to Him for all we do with that which He has entrusted to our care.

    Influence public policy and public perception that have an impact on Christian schools and the rights of Christian educators everywhere, seek appropriate representation to protect the rights of parents to be free to choose the educational program that in their view best meets the educational and spiritual needs of their children, and work in collaboration with families, churches, governments, and other leaders and organizations to promote school compliance with all applicable laws and to promote the ability of private individuals or groups to establish and support Christian schools without restriction or reservation.

    기독교 학교 및 기독교 교육자들은 대중들이 기독교 교육 인식에 영향을 주는데 있어 학부모가 자녀에게 필요한 영적, 교육적 필요를 채우기 위해 가족, 교회, 정부 그리고 다른 리더들, 기관을 통해 가능한 범위 내의 적용 가능한 법을 알아보고 개인 또는 학교 및 단체의 능력을 광고할 정당한 권리가 있다.

    Be authentically international in structure and practice, promoting international, national, and regional organizational leadership for the mutual benefit of all member schools; develop programs, resources, and services with all constituents in mind, utilizing insights learned from colleagues from around the world and evidencing the high value we place on gender, ethnic, age, and cultural differences.

    다양한 국적의 구성원들을 지역별로 구성된 리더십을 통하여 회원 학교들에게 프로그램 개발, 자료 제공, 신실한 봉사, 전 세계의 대학교로부터 습득한 지식과 이해력을 활용하고 이를 근거로 우리는 성별, 민족, 나이, 문화의 다양성을 높이 존중함과 같은 상호간의 이익을 제공한다.

    Allocate our resources, including time and finances, in such a way as to bring maximum benefit to our members, and respond promptly to constituent needs.

    회원 학교의 필요에 맞추어 최상의 효과를 제공하도록 알맞은 시간 및 재정을 분배하여 운영한다.

    ACSI Statement of Faith 

    1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
    2. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
    3. We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 4: 15, 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), His Resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), His Ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).
    4. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16–19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5).
    5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation (John 5:28–29).
    6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, Galatians 3:26–28).
    7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19–20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18).
    8. We believe that the term marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18–25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2–5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God's command is that there be no sexual intimacy outside of or apart from marriage between a man and a woman.
    9. We believe that God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26–27).

     

    Our Statement of Faith is not exhaustive of all of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with absolute authority regarding the proper conduct of mankind and is the unchanging foundation for all belief and behavior.
